"Let's Talk Fiber"
Beginning Knitting Classes (Private or Group By Appointment - Usually at Your Location)
(Class will meet 4 times for 2 hours per meeting; Cost $60 plus mileage with $25 deposit required to sign up; Minimum 2 students)
We will cover casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, decreasing, increasing, basic pattern reading, the drop stitch, the cable stitch and binding off. We also start your first project (usually a hat or scarf).
You will need to supply one pair of straight needles (size 7, 8 or 9 in wood is preferred). Also required is 2 to 4 ounces of light colored worsted weight yarn. Acrylic yarn would be a good choice.
So if you are ready to get started, please call Dianne at (540) 270-1500 and set something up today.
Working with Alpaca Fiber Class - By Appointment Only
We would love to share our fiber arts knowledge with you!
We offer a half or whole day class on what to do with your alpaca fiber. The subjects covered start with fiber on the animal and cover minimal hands on through doing all the steps yourself. We can even include demonstrations of skirting, spinning and weaving if you would like. We can customize this class to include just the subjects you would like to cover, too. Please call Dianne at (540) 270-1500 to get a price and schedule a date. (We also have a few recommendations for our favorite fiber processors with samples of their work to show you.)
Other Classes
If you cannot locate a fiber related class that is right for you, please give Dianne a call. We have a large network of fellow fiber instructors. Subjects include knitting (basics, socks, lace and Fair Isle), crocheting, weaving, spinning, dyeing and wet felting. We can help you find a teacher that has the right class for you.
